Learn about Indiana Writers Center

The next WPCI meeting will feature Kelsey Johnson Lyons, program manager for the Indiana Writers Center.

Lyons will speak after a brief business meeting and luncheon March 11 at the Pike Township branch of the Indianapolis Public Library, 6525 Zionsville Road, Indianapolis. The business meeting starts at 11 a.m., lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Anyone may attend.

Lyons will talk about the center and its offerings for area writers, including classes and workshops. She is a writer and performer who received an acting degree from Ball State University and who trained at the Actors Theater of Louisville. In 2021, she was selected by the Arts Council of Indianapolis to write a poem accompanying their mural of Marshall “Major” Taylor. The poem and the mural are part of their Bicentennial Legends Project.

To attend:
WPCI members will order lunches from Panera and will supply drinks and dessert. Select from the menu, then email your order to member Jessica Shrout no later than March 8. Include a total (foods plus seven percent tax) price for your order so that Shrout knows how much to expect. However, you will pay that amount by check or exact cash at the meeting.
