WPCI celebrates contest winners

Woman’s Press Club of Indiana honored scholarship and communications contest winners at its annual banquet April 27 at Hollyhock Hill in Indianapolis.

Top award recipients are:

Former WPCI president Tara Puckey, Communicator of Achievement. This honor goes to a member who has excelled in her field. Puckey is director of strategic initiatives at the Radio Television Digital News Association and formerly was deputy executive director for the Society of Professional Journalists.

The WPCI recipient competes with other affiliates’ COA winners at the national level. That award will be presented at the National Federation of Press Women conference June 27-29 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Treasurer Julie Slaymaker received the Kate Milner Rabb award for service to the club. The award is WPCI’s highest honor.
