WPCI honors contest winners

The Woman’s Press Club of Indiana awarded 17 first place prizes among in its annual professional communications contest, the club announced today.

Nine communicators representing fields such as journalism, publishing, public relations, graphic design and photography, submitted 36 entries they created during 2020.

“We are so impressed by the entries, produced during a year in which these professionals had to adapt to restrictions at home and at work,” said WPCI contest director Gena Asher. “All the entries showed resilience as our talented members and other entrants figured out how to get the job done, and do it well.”

First-place winners’ entries have been forwarded to the National Federation of Press Women, where they will compete with other first place entries from around the country. Those winners will be announced at the NFPW annual conference in June. WPCI is a founding affiliate of NFPW.

WPCI usually hosts an in-person luncheon to present award, but as with last year, that celebration will be virtual this year on May 15. Stay tuned for ways to attend the virtual celebration.
